If you’re planning to go to nursing school, you may be required to take and pass the HESI Admissions Assessment (HESI A2) before you will be admitted. Ensure that you’re fully prepared for HESI A2 success with our comprehensive test preparation course.

Answers to your questions
The Health Education Systems Incorporated (HESI) is a standardized test that assesses basic skills in reading, math, science and English in order to measure a student’s readiness for entry into nursing and allied health programs. It is often a requirement for entry into nursing school.
The HESI A2 is a standardized test designed to measure what you already know in the areas of reading, math, science and English. Do not plan to cram for this test. Instead, you should plan to review the material that will be tested over time so that you are able to enhance your knowledge in areas where you may not score as well.
Different colleges and universities may only require prospective students to take a portion of the HESI A2, so the total number of questions and the time allowed to complete the exam can vary widely. In most instances, you will be given 3-4 hours to complete the HESI Admissions Assessment, but you should check with your institution which parts of the HESI A2 you will take, how many questions you might answer, and the amount of time you will receive. Question types are primarily multiple choice with a few sections that may require fill-in-the-blank questions.
Upon completing the HESI A2 exam, your score report will be emailed to you from HESI support within 48-72 hours.
Each school has different requirements about how many times you can attempt the HESI A2 exam. Be sure to contact the school in which you are applying to understand its important deadlines and the number of attempts allowed to pass the HESI A2 exam. Most schools require you to wait at least 60 days in between attempts.
