Overcoming challenges and finding a way to become an RN

It will not be easy but with a good plan and the right support, it is possible to move from LPN to RN even while you work full time and raise a family. Consider Natalya who delayed going back to school because of work and family commitments then realized that it was possible to achieve her longtime goal of earning an RN through an LPN to RN bridge program with Achieve.

“What made college originally so hard for me was, I think, the commitment. I have two small kids and I work full time. Going to school three days a week, or however much time I would need to do a class, seemed unimaginable to me. I didn’t even know how I could do it. It was almost overwhelming.”

One of Natalya’s friends and coworkers started an LPN to RN bridge and provided her Achieve Test Prep review to Natalya, telling her how much she loved the program. Natalya still wanted to become an RN, and this encouraged her to look into the LPN to RN bridge program with Achieve Test Prep for herself.

“I thought ‘I’m going to give it a try’. I spoke to one of the advisors, and it seemed like something I could manage. It worked with my schedule as a working mother. The classes seemed like something I could manage.”

Getting started with Achieve Test Prep

Studying with Achieve, Natalya is now completing her general education and prerequisite courses in an LPN to RN bridge online by participating in test prep courses with Achieve, taking CLEP exams, and earning credit by exam that can be transferred to the school where she will finish her nursing degree. This process is allowing her to get the education she needs on her terms —- making accomplishing her dreams of moving from LPN to RN much more manageable and realistic.

The schedule for her online test prep courses and classes fit around her busy work schedule, and also give her the time to be with her family. She is able to choose from daytime, nighttime, and even weekend classes so she doesn’t have to stop working or sacrifice valuable time with her kids.

“If you are considering Achieve, I would say take the leap! I was just like you. I wanted to further my career and to earn my RN, but time went by. I kept saying, ‘next year I’ll sign up for classes.’ There I was, 11 years later and still working as an LPN.”

The right time to begin an LPN to RN bridge

There will never be a perfect time to go back to school as a working parent. You will experience setbacks, and it will not be easy, but it is possible with the planning and support that Achieve provides.

“You just have to take the leap. A year and a half later, I’m almost there. I did it little by little—one class at a time. Give it a go. I’m telling you, it’s worth it!”
